  2. I love this pattern. We're making a pile of them to give to kids undergoing chemo treatment. Thanks for this and the elephant patterns.

  3. I'm pretty new to crochet and I'm entirely sure I am just being dense but I cannot get round 7 correct. I am doing a SC in the next ST and then chaining 8 -- then this is where I go wrong... "SC into second stitch from the hook and the remaining 6 stitches* " -- I have the 8 chains which make a long but skinny tentacle (right?) then I'm turning a long rope of 8 into 4 when I single crochet into the 2nd stitch from the hook and then single crochet into the next 6 stitches? Is that right? Then shape that is making doesn't seem to be forming an octopus but I'm not sure cuz I'm so new at this.

  4. Ahh! Now I realize the SC are supposed to go in the chain stitches - making the long tentacle thicker and immediately starting the next one.
